The rise of the internet and smartphones has had a significant impact on how people communicate. Many people today use a variety of emojis, gifs, memes, and stickers when they want to express themselves.
Today, I'm going to show you how you can use a text-to-image AI model like Dall-E 3 to create unique stickers that you can use online. Of course, you can also use these sticker designs in the real world as well to promote your brand or product.
Regardless of whether you want to use the sticker designs in the real or digital world, Dall-E 3 will make the job of creating them extremely simple. Without an AI-powered tool like this, you would have to either do the designs yourself or hire a professional designer. This would require time, money, or both.
When it comes to creating stickers with Dall-E 3, all you need is a good idea and clear instructions that the model will use to create a design.
How to Write Dall-E 3 Prompts for Stickers
If you've ever used a generative AI model like Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, then you most likely already know how to write prompts. With Dall-E 3, the process is even easier. Although this is the third iteration of the Dall-E model, it quickly became popular due to both its quality and level of coherence.
When I say coherence, I'm referring to the level at which the AI model can comprehend your instructions. With Dall-E 3 you can basically explain the design like you would to a friend, and the model will almost perfectly understand every instruction in your prompt. This makes it easier for people to create designs, especially if they don't have prompting skills.
Although you can write everything in your prompts in a conversational tone, I use a slightly different approach. I like to get straight to the point and make my prompts as concise as possible while still including all of the details I want to see featured in the design. This approach helps minimize mistakes, and I'll show you exactly how you can use it in the next section of the article.
10 Dall-E 3 Prompt Examples for Stickers
Making stickers (or any other kind of images) in Dall-E 3 is a lot of fun because you get almost instant results when you send a prompt to the AI model. Because of this, you can experiment and create endless designs. Here are some of the prompts I wrote for this article, as well as the designs the AI model generated from them.
prompt #1: sticker design, a serene meditating panda surrounded by tranquil bamboo groves, finding inner peace, mindfulness, zen
I've been writing content online for a long time. It comes naturally to me to use keywords when I'm writing. I found that this can have a great impact on prompts as well. That's why I like to sprinkle a few keywords in my instructions to further explain to the AI model how I want the generated image to look.
prompt #2: sticker design, a determined ant leading its colony on a daring expedition across a perilous jungle floor, teamwork, resilience
Ants are similar in many ways to humans. They have to work together in order to build what they need to and survive. That's why they can be used as a great analogy in a business setting.
prompt #3: sticker design, a jovial baker kneading dough in a bustling bakery, flour dusting the air, the aroma of freshly baked bread, culinary delight
This is the perfect sticker to give out to customers if you have a pastry shop. All that's left to do here is to include the name of your shop and perhaps a logo. Thankfully, you can easily add that detail to the image.
prompt #4: sticker design, a playful octopus artist creating intricate underwater murals with vibrant colors, tentacles wielding paintbrushes, aquatic artistry, creativity
The octopus is a very fascinating animal. I remember watching the documentary My Octopus Teacher and being in awe at how intelligent they are. I like how this design turned out. It features a psychedelic art style, which makes it even more interesting since I didn't write that in my prompt.
prompt #5: sticker design, a mischievous cat burglar tiptoeing along a moonlit rooftop, clutching a bag of stolen jewels, urban adventure, stealthy, nocturnal
I laughed out loud when I saw this image. It has a comical aspect to it that I like. It kind of reminded me of the old Pink Panther cartoons that I watched when I was younger. The overall aesthetic of the image fits my prompt perfectly.
prompt #6: sticker design, a playful kitten chasing a fluttering butterfly through a sun-dappled meadow, innocence, joy, playful spirit
There is something really wholesome about this sticker design. It's the perfect symbol of innocence and joy. This is the type of sticker that you can put on your car or laptop to represent your personality.
prompt #7: sticker design, simple illustration in a pop art style, a cat with a slight smile on its face stretching on all fours, relief
I kept this prompt as simple as possible, but you can feel free to describe the cat in the image in full detail. You can even use AI to create stickers of your pets if you provide the model with a detailed description.
prompt #8: sticker design, simple illustration of a decorated Halloween pumpkin with a purple witch hat on top, add a text saying "Happy Halloween" at the bottom of the sticker
One of the best features that was released with this iteration of the Dall-E model is the option to add specific text. You can put text inside quotation marks and instruct the Dall-E 3 model to include it in your image. This will come in handy if you're in marketing. Check out how you can create a cute Halloween sticker with a simple prompt.
prompt #9: sticker design, illustration of a fully decorated Christmas tree with gifts wrapped in green wrapping paper with red text below that reads "Merry Christmas!"Â
You can customize this type of design as much as you want. The level of coherence that's featured in Dall-E 3 means that you can specify even the decorations you want to see on the tree and they'll be included in the generated result.
prompt #10: sticker design, a contemplative samurai warrior meditating beneath a tranquil waterfall, seeking inner peace and enlightenment amidst the serene beauty of nature, martial arts, zen, solitary reflection
Apart from it being a great sticker, I feel like a design like this could also serve as a great logo. Sometimes, Dall-E 3 surprises me and generates a much better image than I had anticipated.
Final Thoughts
Promotional products like stickers are great tools for promoting brands. You can even create stickers that you'll use digitally to promote either your business or personal brand. The best part about it is that you have the freedom to create pretty much whatever you want (as long as it follows the rules and guidelines set by OpenAI) in a matter of minutes.
All that you need is to get your creative juices flowing. Let's say that you want to create stickers to promote your pastry shop. You can search for sticker designs online to get inspired and then write prompts that will yield similar results. And although you don't need prompting skills per se, it's always a good idea to learn more about prompting before you write instructions.
