Of course, you can also create images that you can then use to decorate your home. Regardless of what you plan to do, Midjourney is there to help you achieve what you want quicker and easier than ever before.
How to Make Halloween Illustrations With Midjourney
In most cases, you want your Halloween illustrations to feature the perfect balance between spooky and cute.
When you use Midjourney to create Halloween illustrations, you can generate pretty much anything you want. All you have to do is clearly specify what you want to see and the AI model will create it for you. This may sound simple, but it usually involves a lot of experimentation to get right.
It's worth noting that you can often benefit from specifying an art style when you're writing prompts. In case you want to explore different art styles you can use, I have an in-depth article where I cover the 33 best art styles in Midjourney. It's an informative article and features numerous prompt examples.
Today, I'm going to create some beautiful Halloween-themed posters, wallpapers, stickers, and clipart in Midjourney. You're free to use my prompt examples as inspiration to create something of your own.
If you're a new Midjourney user, you might find it useful to make small tweaks to my prompts to see what type of results you'll get.
Let's not waste time and get straight to the prompt examples.
15 Midjourney Halloween Prompt Examples
To make it easier for you to find what you're looking for, I've divided my prompts into five distinct categories - posters, wallpapers, stickers, clipart, and patterns.
Midjourney Halloween Prompts for Posters
When you're creating posters in Midjourney, it's recommended that you use either a 2:3 or 3:4 aspect ratio. This will give you the best dimensions when it comes to posters.
/imagine Halloween themed poster, close-up of a villain with a scary head holding a pumpkin, darkcore aesthetic, gloomy, dark --ar 3:4 --s 250
I used the stylize parameter in this prompt because I feel like it's something you should often consider doing when you're making posters or wallpapers in Midjourney. The stylize parameter makes the image more artistic, which is definitely what I needed for this prompt.
/imagine Halloween themed poster showing a group of pumpkin devising an evil plan, dark, comedic, peculiar --ar 2:3 --w 50
I needed just a dash of the weird parameter for this image because I wanted the model to add a bit of unpredictability to the results. I'm quite happy with the result.
/imagine Halloween themed poster, a man with a pumpkin mask standing in the middle of nowhere at night, rain, dim, horrorcore aesthetic --ar 3:4 --niji 5 --stylize 150
I feel like the Niji model is great for making posters of any kind. This image looks great as it is but could definitely be improved by using an upscaler.
Midjourney Halloween Prompts for Wallpapers
When I'm making wallpapers in Midjourney, I want to make sure I'm using the 16:9 aspect ratio every time. By the way, I have an article titled Midjourney prompts for wallpapers that you should check out if you want to learn how to create stunning wallpapers that are not related to Halloween.
/imagine halloween in a post-apocalyptic future, neopunk aesthetic, decorated pumpkins in the middle of an abandoned village, gloomy, scary, poorly lit --ar 16:9 --s 200
This is an amazing image. Much better than I hoped it would turn out. It would be pretty difficult to get an image like this as a result if I hadn't used the stylize parameter.
/imagine decorated Halloween pumpkins and ghosts hanging out together, 2D animated, cute, children's book aesthetic, flat design, simple --ar 16:9
The previous image was really dark and scary, so I thought I would switch it up here and create something with a completely different vibe. This is something that you can use as a wallpaper on a computer or tablet if you're looking for something wholesome.
/imagine a trail of decorated pumpkin leading to an evil castle, purple sky, darkcore aesthetic, cartoon style --s 150 --ar 16:9
Purple and orange are colors that complement each other. It makes sense to make the sky purple when the main focus of an image is a trail of orange pumpkins.
Midjourney Halloween Prompts for Stickers
You can create beautiful sticker designs in Midjourney. Let's explore some ideas that you can use to make stunning sticker designs. For these designs, I'll be using the default aspect ratio, which is 1:1.
/imagine Halloween themed sticker design, a cute decorated pumpkin with an evil smile, 2D illustration, flat, simple
I personally don't like using parameters when I'm making sticker designs in Midjourney because they need to look super simple. However, I will often use keywords like 'simple' and 'flat' because you really don't want too many details featured on a sticker.
/imagine Halloween themed sticker design, a witch with green skin wearing a black gown and a witch hat, colorful
I asked for green skin but instead got a green pumpkin. You can't always expect Midjourney to do every single thing you ask it to. However, an additional detail you leave in your prompt can lead to an unexpected result that you end up liking more than the initial idea you had. And that's what happened with this prompt.
/imagine Halloween themed sticker design, close-up of a spooky skeleton holding a decorate pumpkin in its hand
I really like this skeleton sticker. It features a variety of interesting details but they all blend so well with each other that I won't even try to tweak the prompt to make the result simpler.
Midjourney Halloween Prompts for Clipart
What's truly amazing is that you can create a whole clipart bundle with a single Midjourney prompt. If you want to ensure each illustration in a bundle is of the highest quality, you should use upscaling software to increase the resolution of the Midjourney generated image. I personally use Upscayl to upscale my Midjourney images.
/imagine Halloween themed clipart bundle, decorated pumpkins with different facial expressions, 2D flat design, vector art style, cute
You can use clipart to decorate promotional products like coffee mugs, journals, business planners, notepads, and much more. You can also attach them to a newsletter or similar types of content when the Halloween season is approaching.
/imagine Halloween clipart bundle, watercolor style, decorated pumpkins and ghosts, wholesome, simple
For this clipart bundle, I decided to use the watercolor style. You can see the difference when you compare it with the previous image. Some of the ghosts look weird here but when you're making a bundle in Midjourney you can't really expect every single image to look perfect. In this case, just take the characters from the bundle that you like.
/imagine Halloween clipart bundle, decorated pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons, witches, spiders
I wanted a bit of everything related to Halloween characters here. Midjourney didn't create everything I asked for, but I'm really happy with this result. I got a cute bat in the upper left corner as well as some peculiar monsters.
Midjourney Halloween Prompts for Patterns
The best way to create patterns in Midjourney is to use the tile parameter. It's an advanced option that enables you to easily create seamless patterns. I have a whole article dedicated to this parameter called Midjourney prompts for patterns. I suggest you read it if you've never used the parameter before.
Now, let's check out what type of Halloween-themed patterns you can make in Midjourney.
/imagine seamless pattern, Halloween theme, cute decorated pumpkins, dark blue background --tile
Let's say that you wanted to change the background on your website when the Halloween season is approaching. With a prompt as simple as the one above, you can create a seamless pattern in less than a minute that you can use as a website background. You can also use it as wrapping paper if you run a business and want to send chocolates to clients with kids.
/imagine seamless pattern featuring a variety of Halloween characters, skeletons, pumpking, spiders, bats, witches --tile
I'm extremely impressed with this pattern. If your kids really love Halloween, you can use this seamless pattern to make wonderful bedsheets that they'll enjoy using for years.
/imagine seamless pattern, Halloween theme, darkcore aesthetic, evil pumpkins --tile
This one turned out quite creepy but I like that. When I ran this prompt a few times, some of the results I got were too dark to share because I figured most people would never use them. This pattern was the perfect balance between creepy and beautiful.
Final Thoughts
Midjourney can be used to create a wide variety of Halloween-themed images. If you have your own company, you can save a lot of money by using this text-to-image AI model to create custom images you can use on promotional products like business planners, journals, coffee mugs, and so on.
You can even make T-shirts, pillowcases, bed sheets, and many other products that would look good if they featured a nice seamless pattern.
In case you're a digital artist, you should prepare yourself for every holiday including Halloween. Take the opportunity to create art centered around this holiday to gain more attention and promote your work.
Finally, you can make Halloween-themed images in Midjourney solely for the fun of it and maybe print some stuff so you can decorate your house with it.
